History
The history of Berry Plastics Tapes and Coatings Division FIBC and its predecessors spans over 25 years in the FIBC Industry. While in its infancy Tony and Frank Marino established a presence in the Industry with Marino Technologies. The engineering mind of Frank Marino combined with his energy and enthusiasm played an integral role in the early days of the domestic FIBC market with some of the most creative, solutions oriented FIBC design innovations in the industry, many of which remain in use today. Marino Technologies joined forces with Smurfit-Stone Container as their marketing arm in the mid 1980s.
In the mid 1990s, to keep pace with changes in the industry and markets we served, manufacturing was expanded its’ manufacturing in Miami, Florida, and the Rafypak bag manufacturing plant was established in Mexico.
2001 saw the addition of a very well respected brand in the North East and the Walpole Bag brand was added to our FIBC offering.
The highly successful and well know Atlas Bag brand was purchased in 2003, resulting in our status as the leading FIBC Company in North America.
Tyco International purchased Marino Technologies and all its brands, manufacturing plants and employees in 2004 under the name of Ludlow FIBC.
In February 2006 Apollo Management purchased Ludlow FIBC and formed Covalence FIBC within their Covalence Coated Products Division. Covalence FIBC remains a leader in the domestic FIBC Industry today with all the manufacturing capabilities, industry experience, technology expertise, sales and customer service excellence that our customers have always relied upon. Finally, in February 2007 Covalence and Berry Plastics merged and now we are known as Berry Plastics Tapes and Coatings Division FIBC.
We are very excited about our new identity in the Industry, and all the brand recognition and respect that comes from over 25 years of history in providing our FIBC customers with excellence in quality, innovation and service.
